8 Bells - Ginger Shea

Virginia Fitz (Ginger) Shea 

Ginger Shea died on October 9, 2025, after a long illness. Her entire surviving family (Spouse John R Shea; daughter Laura A Shea; son John C Shea; daughter-in-law Shelby L Shea; grandson Martin C Shea; sister Elizabeth Fitz Scott; and brother Harold Carlton Fitz III) had all been with her until shortly before her death. Her deceased parents were Harold Carlton Fitz Jr and Virginia White Fitz of Shady Side, Maryland. Ginger will be remembered for her advocacy and volunteer work relating to elementary education in Fairfax County, and for editing the Lincolnia Park Civic Association Newsletter for over a decade. Many remember her as the nicest person they have ever met. 

Ginger was a long-time member of the West River Sailing Club.  Her father Carlton Fitz and her husband John are former WRSC Commodores.  

A funeral service will be held at St Albans Episcopal Church at 6800 Columbia Pike near Annandale, VA at 11:30 on Monday, October 20, 2025.
