West River Sailing Club has fantastic facilities for large scale events and a good day on the water. Our fleet of support boats for inshore and outer courses, coupled with our ground facilities make us a very capable host for a range of events. Our rural area just outside of major cities makes for a beautiful sailing location, but can make it a bit challenging to find what you need as a visiting sailor if you don't know where to look.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW...
We offer beach launching from our clubhouse lawn and two cranes in our wake-protected basin. From these launch sites, it is a very short sail out to the race courses and the Chesapeake Bay. Thanks to these launch capabilities, we are able to quickly launch large numbers of boats by beach or crane while hosting large scale events. Historically, we have hosted nationals and internationals for many of our current and past fleets.
Note: Our ramp can be slippery. Use caution.
